The Autumn Makeover

With evenings drawing in and daytime becoming shorter, temperatures are slowly dropping. The same blue sky appears more blue against the backdrop of vibrantly hued red and orange trees. The crisp, cold air bites in the morning. These familiar changes can only mean one thing.. Autumn has arrived.

With festivities vaguely looming and Summer seeming like a distant memory, we ask, what does Autumn mean to you? For us, let me explain.

Our Glasgow showroom has undergone a complete seasonal makeover. This includes the placement of pampas grass, draping autumn-leaf vines and new Autumn/Winter Casual Chic stock on display.

Anticipating the arrival of the new collection, these ensembles represent the best of Joyce Young Collections’ current inspiration and give you a small taste of what’s to come.

Inspiration for the new collection has been drawn from ashy forest and olive greens, seen in the seasonal shift away from healthy green foliage. This transition is reflected in the return of the Signature Olive Coat and Casual Chic Silk Rose scarf, tied together in our showroom with a stunning bouquet of dried flowers. This colour palette is further portrayed in the display of our new Dessy Bridesmaid dress.

Alternatively, rich and luxurious colours such as wine-berry red and chocolate brown are displayed opposite; a nod to the cosiness and warmth associated with Autumn. With the Casual Chic red tunic and Signature collection camel cape and skirt outfit on display, a perfectly cosy ambience is created in order to introduce our brand new chocolate dress… keep your eyes peeled for this one !

Now, it wouldn’t be Autumn in the UK without mention of a coat and this one’s a showstopper!  Beautifully displayed here on the left is our made to measure Judy Murray wool coat and dress ensemble. This one is very special to us as, if you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know how incredible Judy Murray looked as Mother of the Groom to Andy and Kim’s wedding. This coat is completely unique and utterly recognisable as a Joyce Young Collections original, meaning you’ll be sure to stand out.

As Autumn is synonymous with orange; leaves, pumpkins, cosy fireplaces; we thought it only appropriate to dedicate a section of our showroom to the seasonal-staple of a colour. A beautiful, auburn, tartan throw and floral patterned cushions decorate the sofa to achieve a cosy vibe which is gently accented with enhancing wax candles and some gorgeous, dried roses. We thought this explosion of Autumn would set the perfect backdrop to display our Casual Chic additions. A stunning, vibrant shade of orange takes shape in the V Neck Dolman Sleeved Short Dress, a brand new colour for this popular favourite amongst clients. Pictured along-side, is the return of our Casual Chic Open Front Contrast Dress which displays beautiful shades of orange and mandarin – a personal favourite and available on our website !

Continuing the theme of bold and bright hues; our accessory wall portrays the vibrancy which inspires the new season of Casual Chic. These contrasting colours represent the drastic change from Summer to Autumn and show that, in spite of Scottish weather,  there is no place for dull.

We have dived into the Autumn/Winter spirit head first here at Joyce Young Collections and have reintroduced faux fur collars & cuffs. These accessories can completely transform and elevate any casual look into one so effortlessly chic. Both collars and cuffs are reversible and can be worn on the faux fur or the tartan side, keeping you warm from the harsh Autumn winds with glamour and grace.         Plus, It’s never too early to start thinking of Christmas gifts …

As we bid farewell to a Summer of holidays and festivals and see the return of ‘normal life’, we can go into Autumn positive and hopeful of what’s to come.

Now you’ve seen ours, let us see yours ! We want to see your Autumn makeovers. Whether that’s just a new pumpkin-spiced candle or if you’ve gone all out like us – tag us on Instagram @JoyceYoungCollections and let us celebrate this glorious turning of the season together.
