We receive many international enquiries from potential clients from all over the world. Our showrooms are based in London and Glasgow and our manufacturing unit is in Glasgow . We only sell direct to clients and not through any other shops or agents.
We do however successfully send outfits overseas without meeting our clients. Here is how it works.
In the first instance we send an e mail explaining exactly how the service works. See below.
Once the deposit has been paid we send swatches and an instructions form to fill in measurements we also ask for three current photographs. This helps to see stance and proportions. The client can decide whether she wants a toile fitting (mock up in cotton) sent and we advise to have a dressmaker to do this fitting. We can Skype the fitting giving instructions on how the garments should fit and where to do alterations. You can see a video below of our Skype fitting with Ashton and her Mum in Oklahoma.
For international orders very often we make the garment straight through to the measurements sent and the finished outfit is sent by Fedex or DHL to our client. We have clients who we have never met in Australia, USA, Canada, Switzerland, Germany and France who have all had outfits made to their measurements.
In the UK we usually make the dresses and outfits over three or four fittings . Another option that works for our overseas clients is that when they are visiting the UK we can do a first fitting and then send the finished outfit to them when they have returned home.
Occasionally if we are given enough notice and have everything ready we can turn an outfit round in a very short space of time while our client is visiting the UK .
Ashton is a stunning bride from Oklahoma who contacted us to ask if we could make an outfit that she had seen on the website for her mother. Ashton chose to have a toile made which was fitted by a dressmaker in Oklahoma and then Fedexed back to us in Scotland to cut, make and finish her Mum’s bespoke outfit. Thank you for your email enquiry. All our outfits are individually made to your measurements. Our designs are sent all over the world particularly the US and Australia.
How it Works
As the outfits are all bespoke we require a 50% deposit on placing your order. The balance plus the shipping is due when we have made your outfit and it is ready to send. This is not refundable as it is made especially for you.
Initially we email you a form to fill in with your measurements and another one with a diagram explaining where and how to take them. We also ask for 3 recent pictures in slim fit clothes back , front and side. This helps us see the way you stand and flags up if any of the measurements look incorrect.
In the UK we make a toile (mock) fitting before cutting in silk. This can be done and sent out to you (shipping costs extra) we recommend that you have a dressmaker or someone who understands garments to do any pinning necessary. We can arrange to Skype the fitting and direct the fit from our end if you like.
Alternatively your outfit is made straight through and we advise that you may need a dressmaker to do any slight adjustments to fit.
