Congratulations to all this year’s recipients of the King’s New Year Honours. This is such a special recognition and the people receiving the honours have known about it for weeks but have had to keep silent with only their closest loved ones in the know! Now it’s out and it’s time to celebrate.

After the initial surprise then acceptance and then jubilation tempered by humility the thoughts of all the recipients will turn to “What will I wear for my investiture ? ”
